Wavy hair is the most misidentified texture there is.

Roughly four in ten people have wavy hair, and it's the type most often mistaken for "straight hair that just frizzes." The big curly brands talk to people who already know they're curly. This site is for everyone who was never told in the first place.

Why trust us

We tell you when the popular advice is wrong.

Most curly content repeats the same rules as if they were settled science. A lot of them aren't. We mark contested claims, cite real sources (dermatologists and cosmetic chemists, not just influencers), and let you decide.

"You have to avoid all sulfates."

Oversimplified. How gentle a shampoo is depends on the whole formula, not one ingredient on the label. Sulfate-free often just means it's designed to clean less. An occasional clarifying wash is fine, and often helpful.
